A little while ago, a Russian Journalist wrote an article about us for a London based Russian Language newspaper. I asked why they were interested, and she replied “Russians LOVE books”. I was going to put it online, but I was waiting for a translation. Due to visa difficulties, I never got the translation from the journalist, so here it is anyway. I believe it may be titled “to make a book”.
When it was first published I was still at the Slade so I showed it to Bruce Mclean, and he said “brilliant; photocopy it in the office, and hand it out to everybody”. I just stood there thinking, ‘but it’s in Russian.’
